Cantina del Vermentino

Cantina del Vermentino, established in 1956, boasts 260 partners, proprietors and managers of vineyards in the vicinity of Monti , a small village in the province of Sassari, located between lower Gallura and Logudoro, near the Smeralda Coast. It was this very company that produced and bottled Vermentino, making a decisive influence on its receiving the Denominazione di Origine Controllata “D.O.C.“(Protected Designation of Origin) in 1975, and, in 1996, the most prestigious recognition that a wine can obtain: the Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (“Protected and Guaranteed Designation of Origin”).The majority of Vermentino production today comes from recently established, specialized vineyards that utilize the espalier or other trellis technique, and to some extent in the traditional fashion in symbiosis with a tree: much importance is bestowed on both the growing methods and the pruning systems, that contribute to the organoleptic qualities of Vermentino grapes.

Cantina Gallura

The blinding white of granite rock, molded by the north winds into fantastic animal shapes of megalithic proportions, the green of imposing cork oaks with blood-red trunks, the transparent deep of a crystal clear abyss.  This is Gallura, the land whose name recalls the rooster (“gallo”) of the Pisa coat of arms of the House of Visconti, the first lords of the region.  Since 1956 the rooster has also identified the fine wines of the Cantina Gallura winery.

At the foot of Mt. Limbara, the Cantina harvests only grapes of Gallurese origin, that 160 partners cultivate on more than 300 hectares of vineyards, of which 180 are dedicated to Vermentino di Gallura, recently granted the sought-after Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (“Protected and Guaranteed Designation of Origin”).The three wines produced here, including the Superiore, are of excellent quality and are produced using the most advanced vinification technology: these wines have received numerous recognitions and have won over the most discriminating connoisseurs in Italy as well as abroad.

Sella & Mosca-Casa founded in 1899

Founded in 1899 in Nurra di Alghero, the Sella & Mosca company was born thanks to a chance encounter between an engineer named Sella and an attorney named Mosca. In addition to the 45 hectares of land acquired in the town of Nuraghe Majore that made up the original nucleus of the business, another 600 hectares of the adjoining lands, known as Piani di Sotgiu, would later be added. To bear witness to the bond and respect for its 100-year tradition, Sella & Mosca has gathered its history together in a museum that exhibits historical photography of the business and archaeological finds originating from the necropolis of Anghelu Ruju, discovered in 1903 on the lands of the Estate. On the 500 hectares of vineyards that surround its cellars, Sellar & Mosca coltivate its vines utilizing a pergola system (expanded system).The varieties produced offer an appropriate amount of sugar and most of all an unusually high acidic energy content.  The quality of our wine is due to a continuous and careful selection of vines and grapes, harvested to this day by hand, by a thoughtful foresight on production and by a thorough study of the organoleptic qualities of each wine produced.
